CELESTINA
Celestina, meaning “heavenly” in Italian, holds special significance for us. Named after our mother, whose name in Italian, “Celeste,” also means baby blue – the signature color of our company – this name represents the serenity and beauty we strive to bring to every project. Growing up in an Italian-American family, we developed an appreciation for nature and artistry, which now guides our approach to creating stunning and tranquil outdoor spaces.
Our motto, “Il Giardino Perfetto,” translates to “The Perfect Garden” in Italian and embodies our commitment to excellence in every project. Inspired by Italian-American craftsmanship and our upbringing, we strive to create outdoor environments that are not only beautiful but also perfectly tailored to our clients’ needs and desires. With meticulous attention to detail, innovative design, and sustainable practices, we ensure that each garden we craft truly lives up to the ideal of perfection.
ORIGIN
In a world often dominated by fast-paced, convenience-oriented lifestyles, the act of cultivating a garden reminds us of the relationship between humans and the land. The planting of seeds, tending to them, and then reaping the rewards is a sustainable and accessible way to nourish ourselves. This not only provides fresh, homegrown produce, but also connects us with the outdoors and our environment. It highlights the value of knowing where our food comes from and the environmental impact of our choices. This is a small, but significant step towards a more sustainable and mindful way of living. We specialize in crafting custom garden designs and renovating landscapes. This allows for a connection between people and the natural environment. By offering a wide variety of plants and trees, Celestina encourages local biodiversity and beautifies spaces, making the outdoors a more inviting place. This initiative not only promotes spending time outside but also educates the community on the importance of maintaining personal and public green spaces, which enhances mental and physical well-being. Our motivation stems from a deep commitment to sustainability and the desire to create a unique experience that combines aesthetics, functionality, and eco-responsibility. With experience in landscaping, landscape design, sustainability, botany, hospitality, and event management, our team thrives to make Celestina a movement for the future. Growing up in New York, the dynamic changes of the seasons and the community gatherings outdoors instilled an appreciation for nature’s rhythms and its ability to uplift spirits. This lifelong connection to the natural world has inspired us to pursue a path where we can facilitate similar experiences for others, creating a space where beauty, community, and sustainability converge.

Growing up in New York, the outdoors was the one thing that brought neighborhoods together. There was something about the outdoors that made everybody’s mood brighten. The seasons would come and go, making different things exciting each month. There was always something new to look forward to when it came to watching mother nature. For instance, in the spring, plants begin to bud with beautiful flowers. During the summer season, the sporophyte growth of the vascular plant kingdom dominates the area and the forests are filled with lush green. Then, as the fall/autumn approaches, the plant life begins to prepare for the cold months ahead. Leaves begin to turn beautiful colors, from green to orange, yellow, and red. Eventually these leaves fall off of the deciduous trees/plants while the evergreens hold on to theirs as the snow arrives in the winter season. To our team, this is paradise. Watching the seasons change and seeing all kinds of plant life change their forms and go through these cycles is beautiful.
“Ever since I was a young boy, I would look out in the garden and see my grandfather meticulously planting each seed in the ground, making sure they were properly spaced. As I grew up, I didn’t realize how important the gardening my grandfather did was. During COVID, I began to realize how growing your own food sustainably is something I wanted to get involved in. Embarking on the journey of cultivating my own garden was fulfilling and a transformative experience. In March 2020, I began starting seeds in my garage under specialized grow lights. This initial step marked the beginning of a process that would soon yield the fruits of my labor. In April of that year, with the help of my father and brother, we built raised beds that would eventually serve as the future homes for our plants. The month of May brought the transplanting phase, where the seedlings were moved into the raised beds. This act of transferring the young plants from the controlled indoor environment to the outdoor beds was a crucial step in their development as it was the transition from germination to full-fledged growth. As time went on, our garden transformed before our eyes. The seedlings grew into robust plants, and the raised beds became full of greenery. Fast forward to the later months, and the real rewards began. The first harvest brought an abundance of fresh tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers, to name a few. These homegrown fruits and vegetables had much more flavor and were more fresh than anything store-bought.”

What People Say About The Team
"Highly recommend Celestina Landscaping! They redid our entire yard."
Celestina Landscaping Customer"Rivertown neighbors: We took advantage of Celestina Landscaping and their team to demolish a wooden path (think 2x4s, large rebarred railroad ties, etc.) and pull invasive vegetation from the yard. These guys busted their butts in the hot sun followed by down pouring rain, with their team checking in with us throughout the day. If you want work done, these guys work hard. Highly recommend."
